We literally went straight from Larson’s graduation to the ferry; last weekend was Block Island weekend!

We got on the highway at 10:30 and were on the beach by 2:30.

Hard to believe, since Larry and I have been going there since 2002, but every year we manage to find something new and different.  This year it was a beach in New Harbor, where tidepooling was top-notch and the locals dig for clams.  My boys asked if they could follow along to learn how, and were quickly put to work.

She taught them about licenses, and about the legal sizes, and between the three of them she ended up with 10 keepers.

So we were there for less than 48 hours in all, and managed to visit three different beaches.  Oh, and the yarn shop.  You know it’s a good one when they have alpacas out front!
