June 19, 2015

Thanks to all of the snow days we had last winter, Alistair’s last day of school isn’t until June 29th.  With his preschool having ended in May, Larson has been a bit adrift.

He spent this week attending Forest Kindergarten, a sort of half-day camp for children ages 4-6 put on by the local forest association.   Unless it’s absolutely pouring buckets they spend the entire time outdoors, playing and exploring and just generally having a grand old time.

When I brought him on Monday, we were both a little nervous, not knowing what to expect.  But walking up the path the registration, we saw a snapping turtle laying eggs right on the lawn.  Just like that he was hooked!

He’s come home every day muddy and wet, and happy as a clam.   I’m so happy he has had such a great experience.

He’s signed up for another week in August.  And we’ll go back in September to check on those turtle eggs, too.
