Thursday night was Alistair’s school’s science fair.  This was the first year he participated.

It all started last fall, when we made guacamole and I did the old “avocado seed in a glass of water” thing.  I have NEVER had any luck with that, but sure enough that one worked (it’s there on the far left, in the orange pot).  So we decided to start a new one every 6-8 weeks to see what happens.  We started five, and so far three of them worked.

IMG_1675 As you’d expect, the exploding volcano exhibit and the homemade slime exhibit got the most traffic, but we did just fine.  The important thing is, he had a ball doing it.

Then it was up and at-em early Friday morning – Block Island weekend!

With bonus geocaching!  We tried five different spots through the course of the trip, and found three of them.

The weather was absolutely spectacular – for the first year since we’ve been bringing the boys, we didn’t need a jacket or long pants at any point of the three days.  Larry and I were trying to remember if we’ve EVER had such a warm weekend there (kids or no), but our memories are hazy.

Happy memories, but hazy.
