We had a lovely Christmas – I had Tuesday off to prep and Thursday off to recover – I’m back in the office today and quite content to sit at my desk without having to put together any more playsets…

Christmas Eve began the way it always does in our house – the last item in the Advent House is always a clue for a scavenger hunt.  This year’s treasure was a Red Sox nutcracker.

In the afternoon the boys and I made sugar cookies, which they then painted with colored frosting.  I’m no great baker – the cookies came from a mix – but even I can mix confectioner’s sugar with milk and food coloring.  They were happily occupied for at least 30 minutes.

All the knitting was done by Sunday afternoon (I even began a project for a January bride).  The scarf wound up being about 6 1/2 feet long, which makes it slightly taller than Larry.  He wore it all day on Christmas, which thrilled me to no end.

I don’t even care if it only wore it to appease me – it worked.

The boys were also thrilled with their hats – made with yarn bought on the Farm (which itself was made from wool from the Farm sheep), and with an official patch.

PS, when you make a hat that embodies the Farm, the inevitable question is “How many days till we go back?”  On Christmas the answer was 213 – today, it’s 211.

Larry went back to work yesterday, so the boys and I had a pajama day.  By the time Larry got home, they were ready for some dada-time – WiiU style.

Seriously – not only do they all have the same profile, they all have the same look of rapt concentration.
