Walking into the house yesterday I discovered that the first peony has popped.

Looks like there will be plenty more, too.

These peony plants (there are three of them total) are the only things we didn’t rip out immediately upon buying the house, although we did transplant them.  I’ve read that peonies take a couple of years to get settled, and in fact this is the best they’ve looked since we’ve lived here.

The wisteria continues to flourish; it’s got flowers for the first time:

Considering it never got big enough to reach the fence last year, it’s nothing short of astonishing, really.

Yesterday I promised project photos, and a project photo you shall have.

Here we are, one and a half repeats down the leg.  The total leg is only two and a half repeats, so things seem to be moving right along.  The pattern is so easy to memorize, I don’t even need the chart anymore.
