Saturday morning dawned sunny and warm; by 11 we were in the car.

Next stop: Halibut Point, Rockport.

You know, just for the halibut, hahahaha.

Halibut Point is a state park adjoined by a property owned by the Trustees of Reservations.  Admission/membership to one gets you access to both.

The centerpiece of the state park is an old quarry.  In all of the photos below, wherever you see two bodies of water, the one in the foreground is the quarry, and the background is the mighty Atlantic.

After a stroll around the quarry, the Peep was dying to get down to the waterline.   Since the tide was coming in, there was no actual shoreline, but he had plenty of things to explore on the rocks.

After an hour or so down there, we were ready for a walk up to the top of the overlook.

He’s such a showoff.

The Peep continued his streak of peeing outdoors while we were up there, but again chose not to document that photographically.

And no trip to Cape Ann is complete without a stop at the Candy House.

Everything that they sell at Nichols Candies is made on the premises, by hand.

And is beyond delicious.
