One last post revolving around the Peep’s birthday, and then I promise I’ll stop.

At least this one is knitting-related, too:  I finished the penguin in time to give it to him on Tuesday.

After knitting up all the pieces separately, I sewed the eyes and wings on, then pinned the front and back together to see check the fit.

Not bad, not bad at all.  So I sewed up the seam, leaving an opening at the bottom for stuffing.

Then I sewed on the feet, stuffed him, and sewed the last bit of seam closed.

Et voila!

The Peep loves it!  So do I.  It was a really fun project – I’ve never knit anything three-dimensional before, so it was a learning experience for me.  It was fast, the pattern was free, and I used up some remnants from my stash.

And now it’s back to the Whisper.  I made it halfway across the back last night, so there’s the other half, the other sleeve, and then the body of the sweater.  Should keep me occupied for another couple of weeks.  And then, I think I’m going to get a head start on the Christmas socks.
