Happy New Year!

There’s a load of dishes in the dishwasher, dinner fixin’s thawing on the counter, and me and the Peep are cuddled up on the couch – he’s playing MarioKart on my DS (seriously) and I’m knitting.  Except for Larry being at work (where I should rightfully be, but I took a vacation day), all’s right with the world.

New Year’s Eve was even lower-key than usual; like we decided last year, we made an easy dinner (pork tenderloin with roasted cauliflower), watched a few episodes of Lost (finally on season 2!), and after a small glass of champagne, we were asleep by about 12:15.

Without further ado, here are my resolutions for 2009:

  • Now that I’ve finally reached a reasonable weight, I want to stick pretty close to it going forward.
  • I started reading “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” last week, and it’s reinforced my resolve to try to eat more locally this year (I ordered our garden seeds yesterday, but more on that later).
  • Get our financial house in order (again).  We always start strong, and then collapse into a pile of impulse purchases somewhere in midsummer.  Sigh.  We’re really going to try to be better this year.

Okay, and now for knitting resolutions:

  • Try entrelac.
  • Try fairisle.
  • Knit more for my family, and less for everyone else’s.
  • Continue knitting for charity.

Here’s to a wonderful 2009!
