September 29, 2008

Not only did the sun not come out yesterday, it was still raining when I woke up this morning.  Needless to say, the fall bulbs did not get planted over the weekend.

It has stopped raining now, and is not supposed to rain again until Wednesday, so hopefully we’ll get them in tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks to the weather, we didn’t do much this weekend.  I roasted a chicken on Saturday, so there’s chicken pot pie in the forecast this week.  Made a big pan of baked ravioli yesterday, yummy.

I did get a good bit of knitting in, and I’m a little more than halfway on the Hanami now:

It’s about two feet long now, which means it’ll be about four feet long when it’s finished, pre-blocking.  There’s a lot of give to it as-is, so I’m expecting it to easily block out to be plenty long enough.  The pattern says it’ll be 72 inches, which is six feet, which sounds probably about right.

I turned the heel on the second Christmas sock on Friday:

And hopefully I’ll finish that up this week, and begin on the next pair.

Aside from knitting, and cooking, the only noteworthy event was fingerpainting!

Oh, and my kitchen shelf collapsed.  But since I haven’t gotten a replacement, and the cookbooks are all on the floor back there, we won’t talk about that right now.
