I haven’t had a chance to find the ‘before’ photos yet, so that’ll have to wait for another day.

When we got home last night, the guys were out there scraping the paint off of the eaves in preparation for the house painting.  The plan was that today they’d stucco the foundation, and then paint later in the week.  But they haven’t yet made an appearance today, and a rainstorm just passed through, so I’m guessing everything will be pushed back a day.  Or two.

I was doing okay – I resolved last night to just grit my teeth and get through it – until this morning when the Peep and I went to go sit on the verandah for a bit.

And couldn’t get the door open.  Because a ladder has been laid lengthwise across the verandah.  And the furniture was all piled up on the other side of the ladder, so even if I had been able to get out there to move the ladder, there was nowhere to put it.

Needless to say, I still have the home-improvement blues.

But we went out to the backyard to play for a little bit, and even brought our lunch out there, which was better than nothing.

The back part of the backyard is the only part of the property that hasn’t been touched by all of this.  Larry put the Peep’s climbing thingie back together on Sunday, and put it out there for the first time this summer.

As he climbed up on it on Sunday I was struck by how big he’s gotten.

Here he is last July:

And here he was at lunchtime today:

Mindblowing, isn’t it?
