It was hot as blazes here yesterday; I didn’t venture outdoors until it was time to pick Larry up from work.  So around 6pm I scurried outdoors to take updated photos of the Clapotis:

In these photos it is two repeats away from the end of the straight knitting.  I actually got to that point last night, and have decided that it needs to be a few inches longer, so I’ll add three or four more repeats before beginning the decreases.  But it’s going very quickly, and I still expect to have this finished up by the end of the weekend.

While I was outside I took a few shots of the side yard.

The peonies have exploded, and the blooms are huge.

Not to be left out, the roses are putting on quite a show themselves.

I’m still not crazy about them, but I’m starting to think that instead of pulling them out and throwing them away I might transplant them – to my mother’s yard.  The peonies are definitely going into our front yard this fall.

And since we’re talking about things growing quickly and so forth, we gave the Peep his monthly haircut last night.
